I went to Whitman College, and all I got was this lousy ego.

Majors at UO I look down on:

Communications (I don't know if we actually have this)
Journalism
Business administration
x Studies, x = Women's, Ethnic, Oppression, etc
Pre Med/Physiology (not really the program, just most of the students)

I also look down on students for a variety of behaviors which are well correlated with the above fields, including but not limited to:

Not stapling homework sets
Stumbling down the street on weekends, screaming about how drunk they are
Referring to varsity football victories as if they personally played a part
Thinking they will be doctors, or will be hired as a physical therapist for a professional sports team immediately after graduation

Personally, I like this one, because it's slightly more relevant to my own life:

But Bernie is 2 PhDs smarter than we are!

Also, I don't like your "hungry" lemon. It looks angry and vampirey!

At Whitman I thought the lamest major (by far) was Art History, though Sociology and Psychology were pretty weak.

Agreed. Those were the bottom of the barrel in my opinion as well, meerly because we didn't have a business major. :-)

We also didn't have Communications majors (thank the Deity!)

Now, I know I am going to get stoned for saying this, but I thought that the Theater major at Whitman was not so much an academic exploration of the subject as it was an all-encompassing obsession for those who dared to venture within the crushing grasp of Harper Joy.

But that's just my opinion.

After about 3 three semesters of lashing at every time I stepped in HJ, or related classrooms, I gave up on the idea of being a theater major, part of my failing was the idea that I should take what I'm doing seriously. People liked what I did mostly, but good ideas aren't what get you far. Parke Thomas would later ask me why I gave up; I didn't have the heart to tell him why.

Ironically, if I had to do over again, I would have taken a closer look at sociology and art history.

I wonder how many students drop out of the theater program? I get the feeling they generally have a high retention rate.

I never was a Theatre major so technically I never dropped out, however, Deborah Holmes was my first adviser, and considering who else was assigned to her, with me someone was strongly convinced that theatre was what I was going to do.
