I must push my barrow all the day
Mar. 10th, 2006 01:17 amSomeone must be awake to share my misery.
This paper has to be done tonight, as it is due in class tomorrow morning. The other paper, by contrast, is due at 5PM. That means it isn't getting written.
Oimoi!

Date: 2006-03-10 10:05 am (UTC)Bitter? Oh no, I'm not bitter.
Are you feeling any better? I hope you're no longer bedridden.

Date: 2006-03-10 11:05 am (UTC)But this paper! Argh. Let's put it this way: it's supposed to be three to four pages. I'm at the bottom of page four, and I've analyzed 94 lines of 166. Please kill me.
I would bother informing him of your plaguedness, but there's no point. Dana hates explanations and excuses alike, and he won't listen to either. On the up side, as long as you cheerfully and competently complete whatever make-up work he assigns, you will suffer no penalty.
Hooray for Cairo! I'm sad that you'll be so far away, though. All my friends are going to these wacky countries and leaving me alone in the strange land of upstate New York.

Date: 2006-03-10 10:08 am (UTC)Parts of the Buxtehude were quite good. I messed up the hardest part, as I always do under pressure. I am not a very good performer. But the Mendelssohn was really lovely; I don't know if I've ever played it better. We'll pass over Brahms. The Bedard variations are so loud and boomy that no one ever notices my mistakes. This is a Good Thing. I bombed a pedal note rather horribly in the last phrase, but the last chord was fine. I suspect everyone forgot immediately afterwards, so I got lots of applause. In conclusion, it is over. Yeee!
