My life is more than graduate school rejections. It is thesis and World of Warcraft! And now Latin. Stupid Latin. I made the mistake of doing all my homework last week, so now I get to brood miserably over my thesis. Fortunately, Melinda has come through with a Latin assignment for me. Never thought I'd write those words, let me tell you.
So the COOLEST thing happened on WoW last night. I saw someone named something unusual--a Hellenistic queen name. Given that my 'toons are both named for a Macedonian queen, I thought, "Another ancient history fan? Neat!" and sent a tell saying I liked the name and was jealous that she'd thought of it first. We got to talking, and it turns out she's working on her Master's in ancient history. Not only that, but she's actually heard of Kyra AND she even belongs to one of the same lj communities I do! SO AWESOME. I believe at this point she started singing "It's a Small World." See, WoW isn't detrimental to my career!
It's been nice having Aspen back so there's someone awake during the day with me.
But it'll be even nicer to get back to the class routine. Honestly, I'm so much more productive when I don't have all this free time. If only I could get some damn thesis WRITTEN. Argh.
My new musical obsession: "Art Snob Solutions," by Of Montreal. This subject line and the last one are both quotations. Funniest song ever. And it's so me, too. Hooray for overeducation.

Mary, Cornell is awesome and i'm 99% decided that I'm going. I think you should definately go! I have spent the last two days here in Ithaca and its exactly like walla walla only colder and there is a university instead of a college and it looks more gothic. oh, and things are really hilly, otherwise, its the exact same.

If you're going to Cornell, definitely look up Ethan Chiang. He's a chemistry Ph.D. student there, Whitman alum. He played viola with me in the symphony. Cool cat.
