Victory is once again mine. I am a registered student, with the ID to prove it, AND I got paid. Not just for the month, for the semester. I have a check for almost ten thousand dollars. W.T.F.
Also, I went to the bookstore to scope out some stuff. All their copies of Orientalism were used. Guess where they'd come from? That's right. I came 2500 miles to buy a used textbook from the Whitman bookstore.
This thing is really cool:

Some of these images make sense, many of them do not. Good luck with the being a student!

I bet I probably know the last owner of your Orientalism book.

By the way, what class are you reading that in? (I know it is bad to have a preposition at the end of a sentence, but I am too out of it to come up with a better construction.)

i took 3rd semester core, which covered that book. oh god is it boring. basically, if you read like, 15 pages-- ANY 15 pages, you'll get the jist of the entire book. said = windbag.

besides, all you need to know about eastern culture you learned by watching aladdin. right?

I agree. Just reading the introduction gives you the basic information that you need concerning his theory, and if you need specific evidence then just pick any random page and you will find something that he puts forward as supportive of his ideas. If you want to engage critically with the material and analyze it thoughtfully and thoroughly, then perhaps more reading is required.

Have you checked out the Wikipedia article on him? I find it very interesting just how controversial the man is - and not over his work! Apparently there is some suspicsion that he lied in his resume (as if he were the only person ever to do that).

That is the sort of pedantry up with which I will not put.
